Q40:

Since February, the Federal Reserve has raised its short-term interest rate target five times, and because of the economy’s continued strength, analysts have been predicting for weeks that the target will be raised again in November.

我个人认为predicted过去时态是错误的, 与前面的has raised有冲突. 所以只有A, D里面的have been predicting正确.

have been predicting含义没有什么错, 很多公司都会在一段时间内预测下季度的盈利.

due to 和because of  becuase是不是后者优先？

马上就要考了，又忘了。

没有优先的问题

due to=because of 是介词短语， 后接名词

because是连词 后接句子

另外想说这题选A的理由还在于句子结构上有个大平行

since february, the Federal Reserve has raised ... and  analysts have been predicting for weeks  

所以，C的时态既不符合for weeks 又不符合前面的since，更不与前面的动词平行

倒是D，是不是因为predict不属于类似require之类的动词，不含有should的意思，所以后面不能用类似D的结构呢。

请NN指教

due to 不等于becasue

她的意思是caused by

这道题看的有点蒙的说，觉得哪个都有点道理

首先‘s的生命结构偏向c，但是可以说不是有效性错误，

然后，就是时态，用过去完成进行时可以解释成与前主句时态保持一致，还和时间状语保持一直，意思上也说的过去，有点道理；用过去时想想也有点道理，意思也挺好

用连词和介词排除也不是有效性错误，

Question

1) because the economy continues strong ? (sounds aweward..)

2) why use "would" here?

见LONGMAN解释PREDICT：

predict
to say that something will happen, before it happens

显然已经包含了WILL，所以WILL 是REDUNDANT的。这是OG经常强调的。
