不知道楼主有没有注意到句末的那个they，如果选A的话having...(加上前面while后面的指代Industrialization and modern methods的they)会使最后的they指代不清，楼主也可以认为是“having gone”可以做逗号前名词的定语同时也可以做逗号前句子的伴随状语，所以这里显然用一个定语从句来直接修饰先行词更好。看B就用了定语从句，不要觉得while at the same time introducing别扭，其实这比while they更好，不会使得两个they在句中指代不同的东西而造成指代不清的问题（GMAT句子里相同的代词一般指代相同的东东，忌一个指代A一个指代B）

97里的while我就觉得是表转折，“然而”，而破解对111A的解释是while不能表转折，只能表“当...时候”

关于111，
，which在这儿引导的是非限定，是个整体的概念，去掉这部分对整句无影响。
that是限定，对所修饰名词“童话”有限定的作用，不能去掉。
由题意，可知，该句子是想表达：他写过一些（非常畅销的...)的童话。括弧里的修饰不能省去，才能和后面分句有对比的感觉。

至于97.
解释同楼上，划线部分的they，和后面的they 指代不清。

我觉得用非限定性which修饰fairy tales也是可以的啊。。就看怎么理解原意了。
我觉得是have been 和后面的remained 时态的问题。

因为没有必要用完成时来陈述一个事实，而remained过去时和整个句子时间不符合。

请讨论。

觉得ls的时态的分析有点make sence.
在仔细比较了AE，感觉“最常被人翻译”和“不出名”都是对现状的描述，最好用现在时。
（但是我又突然想到一点，在没有明确时间标志的前提下，主从句时态必须一致）

至于限从和非限从的区别，用在这我也觉得有点牵强。
我的理解是：
Hans Christian Andersen wrote fairy tales, which have been some of the most frequently
非限从：有整体的感觉：他写的童话，都是文学史上最常被翻译的书..
Although Hans Christian Andersen wrote fairy tales that are among the most frequently

translated works
限从：强调其中部分：他写过一些童话，其中一些文学史上最常被翻译的书.. （言下之意是他写的童话有些是被翻译了的，有些没有）

有很多chemical pollutants, 其中有regulated和unregulated，引进的只是unregulated的

对于OG的解释不怎么明白：

LS提供了一个挺有趣的讨论话题。。
如果从句意理解看，确实用that比which好。我觉得，原句应该是前后两个强烈转折的句子。尽管HC写了不少frequently translated fairy tales, 但他的小说。。还是并不知名。。为了造成前后两个句子，就有必要把修饰成分降低为局部的概念。就是用that比which好了，否则如果按A的说法，就变成了把一句话分成两句，然后再来转折，显然比较wordy。

另外那个大象的，两种选择语法上都没有问题。但是用that定语从句显然是来修饰大象的，就是说什么样的大象，而用现在分词修饰大象，就是在形容大象主动发生的动作，具体是来形容动作的，而不是形容大象。意思确实是不一样的。
例如：scientist, having amassed... now draw on the conclusion that ... 就表示一个动作。如果说 scientists that have amassed..., now draw on the conclusion that.. 就是说已经amassed.. 的scientists。意思也不同。。

你说是吧？

一、“逗号+ ing分词”短语
2、做插入语，位于句中就近修饰名词，是非限定性修饰语。如OG258题的B选项。
