混乱了，请教intention to do sth

2008语法笔记中，P177页，说intention to do sth.错，应该是intention of doing sth.

可是紧接着P178类似例题链接中，又说Longman中确实有intention to do sth。

到底intention to do 是对还是不对呢？

intention to do却是错。Longman也不是权威。即便是Longman字典也不是权威的字典呀,何况朗文字典有如下注释
GRAMMAR
!! Do not say 'have no intention to do something' or 'not have the slightest intention to do something'. Say have no intention of doing something or not have the slightest intention of doing something : He had no intention of paying me the money.
!! Do not say 'with the intention to do something'. Say with the intention of doing something : He left Manchester with the intention of finding a job in London.

谢谢，手上没有longman，只有一个没有例句的merriam webster。

那偶就认为 intention to do不idiomatic吧

因为根据简洁原则，凡是intention to do，均可以改写为 sb intend to do 或 to do不定式。

嗯，intention to do在GMAT里貌似是不被接受的，因为没有成为过正确选项。
