2。Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Who taught us to say the very first word when we were just infants? Who conducted us to take our very first steps in our life? And who swept our tears and showed their belief when we encounter a setback? Who are they? It seems that the more we learn from textbooks and the more we experience in schools and in society, the less significant a role our parents play as teachers in our lives; however, after pondering this issue on many occasions, I finally fond comfort in the idea that parents are the best teachers in the title statement.
Admittedly, the significance of textbooks, schools and our society to us can never be denied, but it is the education in childhood, when we were too innocent to access to other forms of teachers, that contribute most to our future success. For example, parents can teach us to be honest by asking us to accomplish every word we promise; parents can teach us to show respect to the elders by conducting our behavior when relatives visit; parents can also teach us to be independent by forcing us to achieve every task by ourselves. Enormous numbers of examples can be presented to indicate how vital essential the role our parents play to help establish our characters and personalities- in another word, the emotional intelligence.
On the other hand, since we spend most of the time with our parents, they know us better than any other form of teacher, so that they can dig out our potential capability in many fields and most of the times halp us make the right decisions. What is more, they can provide materials as well as assistance to help us obtain our goals. Take myself as an example, when I showed interest in music, my mother bought me a piano and my father took me to my piano teacher’s every week to learn how to play it, despite of bad weathers. In the end, I got the tenth grade-the highest grade- in the piano tests. Though my teacher taught me the basic skills and gave me the direct aid, without the support from my parents, I would not play the instrument in the first place. In a word, the education of our parents is to our long-term success what the foundation to a skyscraper.
Some may argue that other forms of teachers may have some seemingly profound advantages, but none of the other forms is indispensable like our parents. Additionally, though parents also reveal some weak points in educating us such as the generation gap, the overprotection as well as imposition of their own values, all the issues can be soled through communication and mutual understanding.
To summarize, taking into all the above-mentioned factors, we can safely draw the conclusion that since our parents, to a deepest degree, know us better, keep accompany since we were born, and take care of us selflessly, they are no doubt best teachers.
