Would you prefer to live in a traditional house or in a modern apartment building? Use specific reasons and details to support your choice.

Some people prefer to live in a traditional house while others prefer to live in a modern apartment building. As far as I am concerned, I belong to the former group; that is, I prefer to live in a traditional house. I think a traditional house has many advantages. I would like to list some of them in the following analysis to support my viewpoint.

First of all, living in a traditional house is more convenient. When I leave home or go back home, I do not need to take an elevator. I do not need to care about when elevators are in operation as the people who live in a modern apartment building do. The operating hours of elevators always restricts those people. For example, Miss Zhang, a friend of mine, always had to go back home before 11pm when we played together just because the elevators in her apartment building were not in operation after 11pm at night. From this example, we can see that living in a traditional house provides convenience.

Another advantage of living in a traditional house is that conflicts with others’ living style are more likely to be avoided. On the contrary, the people who live in a modern apartment building often have conflicts with neighborhood just because of their living style. The walls are always not completely noise-proofed and thus the life of a family in a modern apartment building is always interfered by its neighborhood’s living style. In this aspect, a traditional house is advantageous.

The third advantage is that we can feel closer to the surrounding if we live in a traditional house. We can walk out at any time. After you walk out of the door, you see the surrounding. It is so close. This is an important advantage especially for the old. They always want to go out for a walk to exercise them.

From the discussion above, we can see that living in a traditional house has many advantages over living in a modern apartment building. That is why I prefer to live in a traditional house. I like the convenience it provides, less conflicts with others and the feeling of the closeness to the surrounding.
