疑惑：

白勇的语法全解上说现在完成时形式的分词不能做定语修饰名词，可是A中 having left 。。。不就是修饰life forms了吗

我觉得这里的having left不是做的定语

你想想定语是修饰成分，也就是去掉之后句子依然完整，但是你把A中的having去掉后， presuming such life forms. 已经不是一个完整的句子了，个人觉着这里是做补语

其实也就相当于presuming that such life forms have left some fossil trace ... 应该可以看出来不是修饰关系

C 宾语从句的that是不能省略的，情态动词也不能随意去掉

B里面都不是陈述语序...
