D中有一个and，那么前后必有对称，因此D答案中的activiate与touch对称，这样的话翻译出来意思为“鼓励游客触摸，并鼓励游客activiate　the animated functions of the piece＂．逻辑意思上显然不对啊。

thereby: adv. =thus. You use thereby to introduce an important result or consequence of the event or action you have just mentioned.

thereby是副词，这里表示结果，不能作连词，要由连词and连接。

我同意D是最佳选项，但不明白为什么是activate而不是activates呢？前面就是用的encourages, 是因为前面用了thereby，所以这里要用动词原形？语法学的不好，请NN指点
