请问A、B中的it逻辑上应该是形式主语，可是语法上却指代了this process，这样可以吗？

并且，曾经记得波波说过may不够书面，可是这里所有选项都用到了这个词，是不是出现了其它表示“可能”的词可以根据这点排出含“may”的选项？

其次，http://forum.chasedream.com/dispbbs.asp?BoardID=23&ID=60823 中rhod版主提到“OG认为trying to表示名词是错的。”，并给出解释Although an “-ing” verb such as trying can sometimes be used as a noun, the phrase the organism’s trying to metabolize in A is unidiomatic because trying is used as the object of organism’s. 但是波波的课堂讲义中说的则是“one's doing 通常错”，我认为这里OG中也是这个意思。

不可以，如果it是形式主语，它只能指代不定式或that从句，不能指代实义名词。

may是个标准的书面语，楼主可能把may和maybe搞混了。maybe是口语词汇。

名词还是动名词是GMAT的一个考点，我印象中trying从来没有对过。

878里面的trying不在划线里面，不能算做考点，只能参考，所以OG里也说"Although an “-ing” verb such as trying can sometimes be used as a noun,"来让步一下。

那么这个可不可以提升到“基本上所有的动名词都不能做主语”这个高度上来并作为一个规则使用啊？根据这点的话就可以直接杀掉C和E了。

“基本上所有的动名词都不能做主语”不能作为一个规则来使用，动名词强调状态和动作，名词强调结果！The+doing可以使得doing名词化。

动名词可以做主语（OG的例子改编）：The spliting of the continents happened housands of years ago.

另有：the rising of the moon, 可以做主语强调正在上升，至于rise做名词做主语的情况就太多了！

To do也是可以作为主语的，而且ETS认为to do具有某些名词的特性（具体事哪道题的解释忘了）

to do is to do的句型很多啊！

我的意思是如果C改成to do sth is adj这种形式是否可选
