Master of Science in Management StudiesIn our global economy, it is not enough for an MBA student to take courses in international business management or spend time in a foreign country working on a class project. One needs to experience life in a foreign country, attend a world-class business school, and dive into advanced management studies for a school year. The new degree program, Master of Science in Management Studies, at MIT Sloan School of Management, offers just this opportunity for highly talented and qualified students from around the world who have already completed or are completing overseas MBA or equivalent degree programs. This program accepts a few top MBA or equivalent degree students from non-US business schools who have not experienced US management education to do more advanced studies at MIT Sloan and allows these students to receive an M.S. degree from MIT Sloan in two semesters. Participants in this program will enroll in regular MIT Sloan elective classes and can study in other MIT departments as well as Harvard University. Upon graduation, participants will join the ranks of MIT alumni doing their part in making the world a better place as well as be able to tap into this rich and resourceful network. As part of the requirements for the program, participants will be expected to take half of their courses in one of the three areas at MIT Sloan: (1) Behavioral and Policy Sciences, which offers courses in strategy, technological innovation & entrepreneurship, organization studies, and international management; (2) Economics, Finance, and Accounting, which offers courses in international economics, applied microeconomics, corporate finance, financial engineering, and managerial accounting, as well as other subjects; and (3) Management Science, which offers courses in operations management, operations research and statistics, information technology, and marketing. Each student will be assigned a faculty advisor upon admission and is expected to design a specific program of study as well as write a master's thesis in concentrations such as technology-based entrepreneurship, global supply chain management, high-technology product management, or other topics of interest both to the students and the faculty. |
