Some people like to study alone, but the others prefer to study with groups. Which one do you prefer?

Everyone has his own preference on the way of studying. For me, I will consider studying with a group of people is more effective than studying alone, given that time is adequate. I like group studying for the following reasons:

Firstly, you can better control your schedule in a study group. Admitted it or not, reading books and practicing exercises are usually boring. People can easily lose their concentration on the material while alone, thus can’t finish tasks on time. In contrast, studying with other people will motivate you to keep good track of your work.

Secondly, studying with others is a process of brainstorming. Usually when I get stuck with certain problem, I will take a break and talk with others. It is other’s opinion and way of thinking that always inspires me and helps me out. Studying alone will only make you more and more frustrated especially when you are thinking in the wrong way.

Last but least, explaining your thinking to others will help you to deepen your understanding toward a certain topic. You can’t make others understood unless you have crystal clear mind. And sometimes by debating with others, you will be able to look at things from different perspective, thus get a more comprehensive vision on the problem.

To sum up, studying with other people is both efficient and effective. I always organize study groups when possible and I have benefited a lot from it.
