First of all, my choice does not reflect that CEIBS has any outstanding shortages in the admission work, and also, I think CEIBS is still the most prestigious BSchool in China. However, my principle to choose BSchool is the most fit one, rather than the most reputable one. There are 3 major reasons for me to choose CKGSB 1, The alumni interactions during application. CK offered me an 1-1 alumni talk and held some alumni sharing sessions to the applicants. This is the key in my case, I would say I was finally impressed by the outstanding alumni, their stories and some brilliant qualities. Maybe I should request some similar interactions from CEIBS too. However, the difference is the enthusiasm showed by CK admission officers. They actively approached me and offered me various ways to know the school and alumni. The graduated alumni is the key to convince the applicants the most on the career expectation, and the chance to meet alumni in person would be much more valuable than the career report, at least to me. 2, The vision of CKGSB, not just the slogan that to develop future business leader for China (we all know MBA solely could not make a business leader), but, more importantly, I consent that China is in an unique era now, the mission of the business school is not only to develop professional managers for IB, MC, but also to develop leaders for the domestic growing industry. This is a innovative "blue" strategy, I personally would like to have a try in this innovation, to take the risk to sail my career with this new school, and to be the seed of this new vision. I don't only consider how much I can learn from the school, but also how much I can contribute to the school, and it seems I can do more in CKGSB. 3, The family reasons and the commitment to my current job. This is not a compulsory reason, but I feel a program with shorter duration and starting later would fit my situation more. There are no particular differences in terms of the professors and curriculums for both schools in my mind, so they are not the reason. However, I do have some pities I did not choose CEIBS, thus I will miss the bigger classes, more international faculties and students. But it is life, there is no perfect choice in real life. I have to give up to get. In terms of the admission work, I would say maybe CEIBS could consider more on the alumni interactions with candidates, in person, and build 1-1 connections between the admission officers and the candidates. However, I understand the workload of the admission for nearly 200 students is much higher than 50, more than quadruple, so how to get a balance on the scale and service level would be a concern. Well, above are my blunt thoughts regarding the MBA admission experiences, again, I would say it's really a pity that I could not join CEIBS, and I will actively participate in the exchange activities between CK and CEIBS, thanks! |
