I know a couple of friends who found jobs in investment banks after obtaining Duke EMBA. Previously they were both engineers.
Did Duke offer you admission or ask you to apply? If it is an offer, it is a very good choice. I still do not understand why people would want to quit their seemingly promising jobs to pursue a full time MBA, if they can handle the EMBA which gives them the same degree, course credit, and network, not to mention the lost salary of two years.
However, do you currently have a full time job near Duke (within 3 hours)? Too long a commute may be a problem, and EMBA only accept students fully employed.
My wife's friend did this program and his company sent him to Hong Kong (as an expat) for a management position. If you are looking for the top program, I think you should go for Wharton's EMBA program. However, Duke's Cross Continent program is also not a bad choice.
