Hey there ,hope this helps
Question 4: Student involvement is an extremely important part of the London Business School MBA experience and this is reflected in the character of students on campus.  lease describe how you will contribute to student clubs and the community and why? (300 words)
There are two types of answers here: fluffy versus STURDY. As much as is humanly possible, we need to get as unromantic as possible… and as scientific as possible. Don’t tell us you’re in love with the girl in the red dress across the room. Tell us that your blood pressure went up by 10 beats per minute, that your sweat glands output 25% more perspiration, and that the strength in your knees went down by 75% percent. Measurable. Sturdy. Difficult to challenge.
Telling us you’re in love with the girl is kinda… flimsy. Works great in a poem, not in a business plan. And that’s what these essays are—they are PROPOSALS we’re asked to INVEST in. Show us the value, as if by way of graphs and charts.
You’re gonna add value to the community? Oh yeah? You think so? PROVE it. Define the value, and SELL it to me. What do you bring to the table that a thousand other students don’t bring? Or, what do you bring, that a thousand others CLAIM to bring, but can’t back up? How is it gonna work? Make into a chemistry equation. When you add water to a boiling vat of water, a violent reaction takes place. The LBS community or club is hot oil. You’re an agent of change. When you’re added to that pot, something BIG is gonna happen. Explain that equation. Show us how and why it’s gonna explode.
It’s worth saving 75-100 words to TIE this into the rest of your app. It has to make sense, whatever it is, with the application as a whole. You have a brand, keep it clean and memorable.
Question 5: London Business School offers a truly global and diverse experience. Describe any significant experiences outside of your home country or culture. What did you gain and how will your experience contribute to London Business School? (250 words)
A biggie. LBS is as international as it gets. And, like, real international. London is arguably at the nerve center of the universe in this respect, where the mixture of east and west is a touch more seamless than even elite programs in the US. Your international experience cannot be light and airy. It has to weigh something.
This one, my friends, is tough to spin. You need credible international experience here, plain and simple. Especially if you come from a tough demographic (China, India, etc.). There will be folks who “get it.” Because they’ve dealt not just with Americans, but also X, Y and Z. “Diverse” is your way out. Race, language, culture, nationality are all examples of “global.” But “diverse” can be stretched just a bit. Military experience, extreme adversity growing up, unusual circumstances that were a factor in your development, can all work here to some extent. So, “outside of your home county or culture” could mean that if you haven’t left your country, there’s still a chance that you’ve seen multiple “worlds.” Military + village + big city, etc.
The thing you need to do is demonstrate that you understand the connection here to the realities of global business. This isn’t an academic essay. You need to be successful in the business world, through training at LBS. If you can’t relate your diverse experiences to THIS idea, you’re dead in the water. Make it relevant. 75, 100 words therefore could be key here to make that crystal clear connection.
