关于Career Goal

看了一些有关Essay 中Career Goal的介绍. 有的说Career Goal不用太具体, 但要有一个大致的方向. 对此有些迷惑. 都有short-term 和 long-term goals了怎么还不具体呢? 难道就说自己对business很感兴趣, 具体方向到读MBA的时候再定?

到我自己的情况, engineering 背景, 准备转finance. 现在想写Why MBA的时候有几个options:

1. 对business很感兴趣, 具体方向到读MBA的时候再定. 这个担心给人目标不明确的印象.

2. 或者转general management方向. 这个可能好写一些, 因为有管理背景. 读MBA的时候再转到finance. 反正听说这种情况其实很多, 就是说MBA最后选的concentration跟自己一开始的时候不一致.

2.转finance. 这个写起来很难. 但是自己的真实想法. 在没有finance背景的情况下怎么知道以后的career path.

Career Goal needs to be very specific and concrete

you need the irreplaceable motivation that pushes you toward the short-term and long-term goals

and since you cannot reach the goals without MBA, especially from the specific programs you're applying for

you need the specific part of the program to realize your dream.

You need to be a perfect fit

while there must be a specific reason for you to transfer from engineering to finance

for what part of Finance, and why

what's the relevence with the background

and why your goals look like that

then you need to find the fit program with detail curriculum and specific courses you need

to complete the whole career plan

you need to have a very clear direction

and a sound rationale to combine everything

to be this perfect fit
