og197 and 与as well as的区别?

我想问一下,og 对这道题目的cde答案,与ab答案中的and 和as well as的解释,我觉得不太明白。为何用and man too 的时候会产生"business在女生中的流行导致了在男生中的流行";as well as for man就会有“以前business只是在男生中间流行,而现在变得男女都流行”的意思呢?and 与as well as的区别在哪里呢?

197. In the fall of 1985, only 10 percent of the women entering college planned to major in education, while 28 percent chose business, making it the most popular major for women as well as for men.

(A) as well as for men

(B) as well as the men

(C) and men too

(D) and men as wellA

(E) and also men

In addition, by using the simple coordinate conjunction and, C, D, and E create the illogical impression that the decision of 28 percent of the women entering college in 1985 to choose business as a major also made the major the most popular among men. The conjunction as well as implies that business had already been the most popular major for men and that in 1985, for the first time, it became the most popular major for both sexes.

28%女性选择business,(这个决定)使得business成为女性和男性间最受欢迎的课(for women and men)

I think your understanding is right

28%女性选择business,(这个决定)使得business成为女性和男性间最受欢迎的课(for women and men)

because 28% chose business this made business成为女性间最受欢迎的课, but before it happen, business was already 男性间最受欢迎的课. so when "28% chose" happend, business became the most popular major in both sexes
