topic 20. 麻烦大家给看看

已经改过了~~

It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree?

I met my young cousin who grew up in a small town last week. He looked less active, quiet and shy, somehow older than me, yet nice the similar as I saw him when he was still a child. The reason he came to the city I have been living for two decades, is he was having to try to catch a job opportunity here after his high school graduation. I cannot figure out if he will succeed to receive the offer, like he actually did not sure whether the position is his dream land.

On no account can we deny the vital influences of the location for a person, especially for a growing child within a process of knowledge’s quick enriching and interests’ forming. Before I met my cousin, I, probably as a multitude of people, lived under the illusion that growing up peacefully in the countryside is superior to struggling in a big city in one's childhood, however, after more concretely thinking this time, I start to disagree the viewpoint I have ever stood.

For one thing, education is one of the key words of children’s growth. Nothing is more important than education for a child and by no means can we ignore the importance of knowledge. A man without a good education, most of us believe, is an unfavorable victim of adversary environment, will be deprived of a wide assortment of twenty-first century opportunities. Accordingly, so great is a child’s chance for attaining knowledge, that schools in cities are perfecting themselves to offer her/him.  In addition, in urban areas, excellent schools are overwhelmingly more than in the countryside, which promises, children have far more possibilities to receive superb education in the very beginning. It is beneficial to them for a long run.

Furthermore, another equally decisive role influencing one’s growth is whether the person clears her/his purpose of life. People living in urban areas widen their vision as early as in their childhood due to the variety of city lives.  A theatre showing Shakespeare may be only a couple of minutes away from home. City-bred children go to literally every sort of museums, including biology, arts, history and so forth. That means, they may find their interests and goals in their most creative and enjoyable age.  If urban children desire, they can join in a specific camp or a group like of drawing or science to develop the interest easily, and after decades, might eventually achieve their purposes, to become an artist, or a scientist.

Admittedly, growing up in the countryside with gentle paces is peaceful and safe for a child, as I thought before.  However, with one’s growing up, s/he will be gradually aware that childhood is of paramount importance throughout people’s lives because it is the period of building the fundament of their future – such as education and clarifying interests and goals in a creative age. Consequently, a big city is where children belong to rather than the countryside from my perspective, and I believe my cousin will agree with my opinion.
