答案是B，奇怪的是这里的he could not leave，宾语从句为什么没有that呢？

并列优先，你就别考虑其他了。

用THAT引起的从句作宾语最为普遍... 在这类从句前的连词THAT，在有些情况下可以不用，例如在BELIEVE，THINK，SUPPOSE，PRESUME等动词后连词THAT常不用，在SAY，SEE，KNOW，HEAR，PROPOSE，UNDERSTAND，BE TOLD等动词后，连词THAT有时用有时不用。在大多数情况下还是以不省为好，特别是在笔语中。

不是说GMAT里的宾语从句后一定要加THAT吗？好像GMAT里许多死规矩在885中都不适用。
我近来被这些条条框框弄糊涂了。

这里没有THAT是可以的，但加上当然最好啦。
