Although ETS perfer "rather than", according to the parellerl structure, I think C is better. Hope NN 指点。这题目没有答案，所以在A与C之间徘徊。

c如果改成and not from burning （分词作定语）calories，才有对的可能。

我认为相比之下，只有选A了。

A的it指代怎么讲呢?

it 当然指代body heat 啦

A 相对好些呢，不管怎么说还是读得通，而且又用了rather than，C 好像应该用but来表示转折吧（本来很肯定，但读了几次后好像and也读得通，不过我们不能被汉字的假相迷惑啊，英语毕竟是不同的）

最后，我觉得这题出的很没有ETS精神啊，没有一个是真正完美的嘛

初看起来，本题的几个选项确实感觉都有点别扭。下面，我谈谈我的一点想法，也希望大家一起讨论，多批评指正，共同将这个题讨论清楚。

（1）关于平行

通过此题，让我对平行有了进一步的思考。

说实话，以前觉得平行的两个对象是很清晰的，从来就没有仔细考虑过那里应该是平行的起点。以本题为例，平行的两个对象是从by开始呢（如果从by开始，就只有D选项形式上是平行的），还是从by后的某个词开始呢？

我的想法是，平行的对象要从比较对象的不同部分开始。

比如本题，如果比较的对象是draw和另外一个不同的动词，则应该从by开始。否则，就可以从by后面要比较的对象的不同支持开始。

（2）关于几个选项

（A）的问题应该是不平行，与draw平行的话，应该有BY引导；另一个问题是，it的指代。

（B）比较的对象，重心都有问题。

（C）and not有问题，it也不好。

（D）instead of 通常链接两个名词，it指代问题。

（E）比较了两种获取 body heat 的方式，instead of 链接两个名词。相比而言，较好的表达了原文意思。

即： by drawing their body heat directly from the Sun  instead of body heat generated by burning calories。红色字体平行。

当然，觉得最好的答案应该是诸如：rather than by burning calories 之类的。可是原文选项没有啊。呵呵！

不是这样吧......draw sth from 是固定搭配啊,drawing是吸收的意思吧这里，你总不能说

drawing 改成using 或是 drawing their body heat from burning calories 会好些

I prefer A.

C. from the Sun and not from + n. 这个名词和Sun平行，然而该选项用了动宾段语generating it。
