B的结构是the fact... would make it seem that they ...but they...,they想指ELK,但是可能误会成Rocky Mountains

You don't have to waste your time. B is the absolute correct choice.

The fact that elk now live almost solely in the Rocky Mountains would make it seem that (they are mountain
    dwellers, but

they once ranged over virtually all of the continental United States except for a small strip in the extreme Southwest.),變成括號中整件事都是用來說明那個that,這樣句意就奇怪了,變成說"elk now live almost solely in the Rocky Mountains"這件事,可以說明"they are mountain
        dwellers, but

they once ranged over virtually all of the continental United States except for a small strip in the extreme Southwest."

我要是遇到了,我会选择B;

1.A的which指代是不可饶恕的,(且说跳跃指代这个问题有得商量)但是which指代前面整句内容是OG明文禁止的;

78.

The root systems of most flowering perennials either become too crowded, which results in loss in vigor, and spread too far outward, producing a bare center.

(A) which results in loss in vigor, and spread

(B) resulting in loss in vigor, or spreading

(C) with the result of loss of vigor, or spreading

(D) resulting in loss of vigor, or spread

(E) with a resulting loss of vigor, and spread

Choice A misuses which: as a relative pronoun, which should refer to a specific noun rather than to the action of an entire clause.

2.B中的they,我认为首先最重要的一个细节就是未划线部分已经使用了一个they,而每一个选项都有mountains和elk,所以从句子意思上判断(未划线的)they指代elk后,再在本句中使用一个和其指代相同的they是一点问题都没有的;
