Dear all, I'm a Chinese student who received a B.A in economics in one of the top liberal arts colleges in the U.S. I just got a job offer from a middle-sized (2,500 employees) life insurance company. My position will be strategic financial analyst. Bascially I'll be responsible for corporate finance analysis work and taking strategic initiatives based on findings and presented to various levels of audience, most of whom are senior management and board of directors. Prior to this, I had half year risk management experience in a top insurance company. Both companies are in the U.S. Since I have worked in insurance industry for almost one year after graduation, I feel like I'm more interested in corpFin side of the businss than more quantitative work, i.e more interaction with people (and I believe that effective communication skill is key for me to promote to C level management role). I know I will only have one year experience by June 2007. Therefore, If I want to pursue a top MBA, which programs should I apply for? My strengths are insurance industry speicific experience with finance and strategy experience. My goal is become a finance director in a global insurance company or investment banking insurance corpFin coverage. When should I submit my applications? and which weaknesses should I consider in my overall application. My undergrad GPA is 3.3. GMAT 750, 99 percentile with a balanced verbal and math score. Thanks |
