iAs the energy on the earth is becoming less and less, all governments are thinking about the method to save the energy. Some people suggest that increase the price of gasoline and electricity is the most effective way to conserve energy.
However, I strongly disagree with this statement because this will merely save a little energy and make the citizens angry.

Increasing the price of gasoline and electricity could only ensure the low income people spend less energy. There is no denying that most of the energy is consumed by the wealth people who own luxury cars. The increasing of gasoline merely let them pay more for the energy instead of saving energy. Those who have a low income will probably use less energy by using less lights and staying in a cold room. But we cannot ignore that light and warm are people's basic requirement. Even by doing that, a small portion of energy can be saved. It is obvious that we should focus on the wealth people but not the low income person, so I think increasing the price of gasoline and electricity is not a effective method to conserve energy.

In addition, people, suffering from cold and dark, will be angry with the government. There is no doubt that governments should do their utmost to ensure citizens lead comfortable lives. However, by increasing the price of energy, the poor are forced to live in uncomfortable homes suffering from cold and dark. Thus, it is obvious that the poor tend to feel discourage and angry with governments. This method would not only be failed in the energy conserve, but also make citizens unpleased.

Although some people argue that increasing the price of energy is the fastest way to decrease the energy consume, but only in a short time can we conserve the energy by doing this. The most effective way is to make every people especially the wealth people realize the shortage of energy and save energy during the daily life.

In all, in a long term view, increasing the price of gasoline and electricity is the most effective way to conserve energy.
