句子1：

                    这句话的 between 和后面的and protection是并列不？
  还有后面的access 和谁并列啊？整句如何翻译啊？

同意楼主对句2的理解; 句1不太清楚;

protection只能做N, 不可能和access,participate平行

若是between......and protection的话, 前面access又无and和participate相连.
