再开帖问此题OG12-118，不信无人能解

正确选项 C，一直困惑的就是这个human beings’ burning，不是OG明确说sb's doing不好的么？？？这里怎么解释？？？

OG的解释应该更加权威吧，我还没有做到，这里就随便说说。

整个划线的部分解释什么是 Global warming

A，主要问题在 ’ to be‘，这个强调将来会发生的结果，和句子的意思不符
B，逻辑意思不同， caused by fossil fuels，这里说全球变暖是由于fossil fuels造成的，显然不太合适
C， human beings整体是一词组，指的是人类，没有动词的意思
D 和 E，这里用which的话句子比较冗长，都是废话

五个选择看了一遍，还是C比较合适

同上。C虽然还是很别扭，但是与A, B 比起来是逻辑意思最准确的了。而且语法上来讲也没有错误。somebody's doing，我也觉得很awkward。但是比较来看，也只有C最合适了。

排除出来选项是没问题的，就是接受不了这个sb's doing~

1. 燃烧
The settlers avenged the burning of the fort by destroying an Indian village.
移民们摧毁了一个印第安人的村庄以此来对烧毁堡垒实行报复。
The Indians avenged the burning of their village on〔upon〕 the settlers.
印第安人因为村庄被焚毁向拓居者们进行报复。

终于找到一个词典里面把burning列为名词的，burning是名词，就不会有问题了

这里的burning是可以理解为名词，楼上正解

啊~~~~~~~~我的错~~~一直记得burn就可以做名词所以就以为burning一直是Ving了~~~~brun的名词意思不对....不好意思，谢谢各位

白勇的语法书里有讲，对于没有其对应名词形式的动词，如make，staff，还有就是这个burn，一律用-ing形式代表名词，有对应名词形式且意思一致的，要优先使用对应名词形式，如construct-construction；destroy-destruction；think-thought
