1。此处in favor of 是副词词组，到底是修饰the rules 呢还是修饰bend？按照逻辑意思来讲，我觉得是修饰bend。但我查了一下副词的用法，在某些情况下副词也可以修饰名词，所以请大家帮我确认一下。

2。 bend在此地准确意思是什么？扭曲？违反？金山词霸上查不到。

个人意见：我觉得in favor of 是作状语，修饰bend，逻辑上肯定不能是修饰the rules

修饰的原则就是按照逻辑意思修饰

bend，查了朗文，意思上都是弯曲，但是有这个词组bend to somebody's will
：to do what someone else wants, especially when you do not want to

可以理解为bend也可作扭曲（意志，准则）讲

我認為 in favor of 只是一個介詞片語。介詞片語可以有多樣的詞性，必須看他修飾的對象來配合。
這裡有一個例句：
in favor (of )表示“赞成、主张、支持、有利於”，常用作表语或后置定语。
　　The students were in favor of reform. 学生赞成改革。

我覺得您不如這樣看好些
做某事 in (favor of client)
