This girl has a motivation to sing, because she truly love it. Motivation is a sum of the needs and wants cause a person to act. Moreover, it can be classified to extrinsic and intrinsic in nature. When Marnie was young, the intrinsic promoted her to sing, and she enjoyed her pleasure time every time when she sang. She might be motivated by a desire for satisfaction of singing, personal pleasure, self-fulfillment, and her own accomplishment. When she want to enter a musical university to study the sing further, she practiced hardly and preparing the entrancement exam carefully and seriously. However, it is great pity that she did not pass the entrancement exam. All the persons as her parents, her teacher, and her friends was depressed when they were listened this bad new. Marnie did not give up singing, furthermore, she love singing more and deeper. When she got some achievement is the performance of singing, some famous companies found her to invite to joint their own companies and were willing to give a satisfied salary. The incredible amount money given to Marnie is extrinsic motivation, which is a drive to perform an activity in order to obtain a reward from outside the individual. The extrinsic motivation externally bertowed intangible rewards such as attention, approval, praise and so on. Finally, Marin accepted the suggestion from one company to be a professional signer. When she got more money and reward from others and outside, the intrinsic motivation became decreased, because the extrinsic motivation for her is similar with the intrinsic motivation for her, this effect is called as overjustification. 下面是给出的sample answer In this set of materials, the reading passage describes two types of motivation, extrinsic and intrinsic, and a certain type of effect ( overjustification ) of these types of motivation. The listening passage provides an example of these types of motivation. In the reading passage, motivation is defined as the total of the wants and needs that make someone that action. Extrinsic motivation is motivation that comes from outside a person. It can be tangible, such as money or goods, or intangible, perhaps praise, or approval, or attention. The overjustification effect is an effect that is related to these two types of motivation; this effect is the decrease in intrinsic motivation that occurs when extrinsic rewards are given to someone who is intrinsically motivated to act. The listening passage provides an example of these types of motivation in the life of a singer, Marnie. When Marnie was young, she was intrinsically motivated to sing; she sang simply because others expected her to sing and then, after becoming a professional singer, sang for money. As she got more and more extrinsic motivation for singing, the overjustfication effect occurred as her intrinsic motivation, her pleasure in singing, diminished considerably.
