E is beter than B,

B used Appeared, E used have appeared, since 1% of the species are still appearing, so have appeared is better then appeared

After discussing with some english teachers from Cornell, I picked E as the final answer as last.

In B, that is ommitted before appear.

E is the best answer we can find out of these choices given
