Wharton Round one, interview invitation received

Submitted application on Sept, 29th and received interview invitation
on Oct, 21th. I scheduled my interview on Nov, 14th at Wharton campus.

Background:

Came to US in 1998, Ph.D. of Pharmaceutical from Columbia, Working at
Merck since 2003, now holding green card. Age 28, Undergrad from Fudan,
GPA 3.9, GMAT 740, AWA 6.0

First round application submitted: HBS, Stanford, Wharton, Columbia, UC

好牛。wharton也是我的dreamschool，可惜除了GMAT也是740，其他的都不能跟楼主比，汗颜！anyway， wish u good luck。

交得这么早啊！原来早交可以早点拿到interview啊！我还傻乎乎地一直等到deadline才交。

恭喜楼主，背景真不错。2003年开始工作，已经有绿卡了？肯定没通过办LC的方式。

Dashasha, you are right, my GC was through NIW by myself.

Triumph, sometimes I feel that one's caliber can't be judged with "good" or "bad" and therefore there shouldn't be any comparison between people. Take GMAT for example, any score from 600-800 makes absolutely no difference to Adcom of top schools. Luck and admission pattern are what really matters. To be frank, Wharton is full of incompetent people and I know lots of talented people got rejected.

On a more personal side, Wharton is not on the top of my list and unless it's the only offer I get, I can hardly imagine taking its offer happily.

But I do wish everyone dream comes true. Best luck, CDers.

Congrats on the interview invitation.

I wanted to apply for Wharton in the second round but a recent event made me to reconsiderate this decision. Well if you have been watching this season's Apprentice show... The candidate that's fired the week before last, Toral, an investment banker, is a graduate from Wharton.

On the show, this whartoner was completely incompetent, really bad in team work, hated by all her team members, and arrogant and at the same time stupid... She is definitely a big shame to the name of Wharton, in front of millions of TV audiences.

I'm sure she's a special case, but I was really disappointed about this deliverable by Wharton... Tell me am wrong.

But still, good luck with the interview.
