2003年一月题
33题：Between  1871  (until)  1891  ,  the  (population)  of  Toronto  (more  than  )  tripled  ,  increasing  (from)  56000  to  181000.
“increasing”是否能改为非限定性定语从句，WHY？
34 题： In  the  nineteenth  century  ,  Montreal  grew  (into)  an  important  (transportation)  and  industrial  center  ,  (aided)  by  its  many  natural  resources  and  an  (abundant )  of  hydroelectric  power.
“aided”能否改为非限定性定语从句，WHY？
还有Tere  are  many  beautiful  skyscrapers , which were built in 2004 ?这个句子中的which were能否去掉？为什么？
刘述语法笔记中定从省略中讲到，定从中，主语+BE可同时省，——这是一种什么情况，能否举例说明一下（我感觉同时省略后，好象就变成了过去式作后置定语,同时省的情况是不是局限于限定性定语从句，非限定性定语从句中能否省略）

是过去分词做后置定语

过去分词做后置定语，常常可以和定语从句替换，通常表示被动的含义。

如34题
In  the  nineteenth  century  ,  Montreal  grew  (into)  an  important  (transportation)  and  industrial  center  ,  (aided)  by  its  many  natural  resources  and  an  (abundant
)  of  hydroelectric  power.

可改成
In  the  nineteenth  century  ,  Montreal  grew  (into)  an  important  (transportation)  and  industrial  center  ,  ( which was
aided)  by  its  many  natural  resources  and  an  (abundant
)  of  hydroelectric  power.

33题，由于后面是现代分词，所以不能改成限制定语从句。
