MBA Re-applicant 的问题

去年我已申请了Columbia, Harvard, Yale, 都惨被dinged了

今年再申请，时间上来不及准备R1了，听说Re-applicant必须要在R1 submit的，否则就没有机会。

去了website查看，似乎没有找到这个具体说明，请问re-applicant可以申请R2的吗？

Sure you can apply for any rounds you want, but chance is getting slimmer as you apply later.

Catch round 1 if you can, that is my recommendation. And do make sure you have made some significant progress on your career and on your applicaiton as well, sepcially for Harvard, which is known to be not friendly to reapplicants.

Here I still have some questions?

1.Compared with the 1st-time applicant, why does the re-applicant get slimmer chance when applying later. Is it said that " there is not too much difference between R1 and R2. So, is this situation ( R1 much better than R2) specific for the Re-applcant?

2.In the Top-10 B-school list, which one do you know is frendly-to-reappliant ? btw,I won't apply HBS this yr.... What I concern most is MIT,since it is my focus this yr. and i am just worrying about the Columbia, Yale. Could you give me some recommendation ?

3.If there is some career progression, does it mean the re-applicant can get more chance to be admitted? because the re-applicant shows the loyalty to the school....

1. How do you show the loyalty to the school? - To apply earlier. your 3rd question answers your first quesiton pretty well here!!

2. I know Harvard (Stanford to a less extent) are not friendly to reapplicants. But Columbia, Wharton, and Tuck are. I dont know about the others.

3. Well, let me rephrase it the other way. It will be the best you have shown some improvement professionally (meaning more job resposibilities and more achivement) and personally (meaning more extracurricular blah blah blah). But if you haven't had any great improvement, you at least should make your application look better than it did last year. If applying earlier is the only different thing you plan to do this year, the chance of getting a ding is....
