择校求助 - 求fintech和创业项目好的学校

先是感谢各位大神帮助（深鞠躬）！求各位大神帮助择校。主要有两个问题，1是自己的背景大概能申请到什么level的学校；2想今年申请2轮，focus3-5所学校，想知道哪几所学校在我想转行去的方面比较有connection
学历背景：本科us top 15，gpa ~3.8，工科背景，gmat 720
工作背景：现在在金融公司（500强公司）做系统方面的工作，工作5 年，中间没有换过公司、职位。工作开始在纽约，后被公司派来日本lead 一个小team。很喜欢现在公司的团队，但是对具体做得东西觉得有点没有意思，想要转做fintech （investment platform）类的start up或者product design，get better big picture on how to run a business，或者是tech类的一级市场投资（venture capital，private equity）.看到大部分学校都是focus on consulting或者finance，想知道哪些学校在tech类比较有connection。

美国第一大Tech/创业聚集地是加州，毋庸置疑。第二大聚集地？纽约。Tech和创业现在是CBS发展的重点，非常欢迎Tech背景的申请人。另外，如果比较分析的话，会发现所有的Top 5或M7商学院，Pre-MBA为金融、咨询背景的同学都是主要的组成部分之一。

创业方向必须去加州，几个好的商学院都有自己的创业方向，UCLA，南加大，stanford等等，去加州没错

So Since we are talking about top level schools here I will need more information from you about your profile before I can really answer:

Where do you work? What do you do? How have you advanced? Do you have any leadership? What are your great achievements? Do you have notable community service or extra curriculars?

These facts can make the difference between a top 10, a top 20 and a top 30 school.

好的谢谢！也是想要去加州看看， top学校还是比较少而且感觉竞争很激烈，估计还是要申请试一下看看！

one of the short come is on extra curriculars and community services probably - given haven't done much since start working. Holds a couple leadership position during undergard years.

Worked both in NYC and Japan. Work for a well known asset management firm, but more on platform side. Do lead a small team at the moment with 5 years work experience - on track for promotion this year but nothing guaranteed yet.

Good to hear from you! Well I’d say very roughly that with your profile I think top 5 would be pretty tough (or M&, or whatever). And then your real range would like somewhere in the 5-15/20 range. So pretty much Top schools, but the top of the top will be a bit challenging.

It’s a rough evaluation, but I think a good place to start

Thank you! I would suggest schools like MIT, the New York programs - Cornell, CBS, Stern, Wharton, Emory. These tend to be near major financial centers/cities so that is part of the reason for their strength in Fintech. Hope this helps!
