讨论一下campus tour的好处

如题。

总是有国内申请者羡慕在美国的申请者可以去campus tour进一步了解信息。可是，我想知道，这究竟有什么好处？自己先列出可能的好处：

1）了解学校风貌。反驳：除了极个别的，米国的学校环境都不错，设施也很好；关于气候等，通过其他途径就可以了解

2）可以去试听课程。反驳：商学院的课程都是比较活跃的，老师讲课也比较有趣生动，你想学生都是交钱学的，讲不好还不得把你赶下台。再说，老师有没有名气其实从排名等都能反应出来。

3）可以获得直接的面试机会。反驳：直接面试和电话面试都各有优缺点，其实不能一概而论。

4）可以和学生交流。反驳：我想学生的交流也是比较有限的，而且老美都喜欢说好的

不知道campus tour到底有什么优势，请大家说说。

You should definitely go visit the schools if you have the chance.

1. Different schools do have different styles, some schools are more classic, compared to the others that are more modernized. (TUCK vs NYU) [you should visit]

2. Different schools have different teaching methods. You might not hate the case-study class if you attend one of harvard's classes, likewise, you might not love the quantity class if you attend one of MIT's. [you should visit]

4. At least, you can find out whether the students are friendly, or aggressive. (down-to-earth vs. a$$hole) [you should visit]

5. When the school knows you already had a campus visit, it considers you an applicant who is more likely to attend its program than the other one who never visits. [you should visit]

电话面试的优点好像很少听说。

老师如何记得你来学校visit过呢？除非在申请材料中提到。

不过楼上说得有些道理。西部附近的学校我要看看，东部的就算了，还要坐飞机（现在油这么贵，机票也估计水涨船高了）

At the same time, they are the advantages of visiting campuses.

Qequest the on campus interview, so you can throw one stone at two birds. You are not going to leave them impression if you live 2 miles away from school. But it certainly means something to the adcom if you have to  travel 2345 miles and drive another 3 hours to get to the campus. BTW, the air fair isnt expensive specially when you are travelling during september or october.
