部分倒装句中，主句分句时态问题，请教~

在no sooner...than...,hardly/scarcely...when,not until等结构中，部分谓语（通常指助动词或情态动词）提前于主语之前，所以构成部分倒装。现在我有一个不明白的点，关于其中两个分句时态是否需要一致的问题：
如 not...until...
eg. Not until the child fell asleep did the mother leave the room. （主句分句时态一致）
Not until the early years of the 19th century did man know what heat is.（主句分句时态不一致）
在no sooner...than...中，
eg. No sooner had he arrived then someone called him 他一到就有人给他打电话（不觉得这个事件关系中一定要强调时间上he先arrived，然后someone 再called。如果是的话，回到最开始的例句里，Not until the child fell asleep did the mother leave the room.“直到孩子睡了，妈妈才离开房间”。不是一样的也有事件时间关系么？可是前后都用了过去时。）
我想知道 No sooner did he arrive then someone called him .可否？
