There are two choices whether my school should purchase computers or books. （it's not a good expression. you may say "There is a hot debate whether ... ..." ）In my point of view, I prefer to buy computers rather than books because it contains more knowledge, it is more efficient, and it is durable for saving.(subject should be agree with v.)

The essential reason can be seen by everyone is that computers can offer a great deal of knowledge by connecting internet. Undoubtedly, computers and internet are the more (most)distinctive (should plus a n.) of all inventions in 21 century. A computer is similar to a tremendous library by connecting to any library built in internet. (donot understand) Moreover, a computer affords ("can afford" to go agree with the later "can") more abundant information than can a library. Additionally, by connecting internet, you can talk with different people living in other places around the world. In this way, you will be familiar with the various customs and histories about other countries, even if you have never been there.

Another reason of my propensity to buy computers is that using computers is more efficient to prepare research paper. When you require some reference book, you only need to type the keyword in computers. When you face with a plenty of data, you can depend on computers to interpret. For instance, finishing a more than 15 pages paper, I might took three days when I had not a computer. And two days of those are used in searching relative data. The change happened in which (after or when) I owned a computer. By using computer to collect data, I finish a 20 pages paper in two days, and get enough time to refine your paper more preeminent.  (donot understand)

Last but not the least, computers are durable and secure to save data. Differing (here,"different is ok")from books which are damaged easily by moisture and posts, computers use floppy disk to save date. Because the floppy disk is made by durable materials, data can be saved in a long time. Once in a while, some data would lose because of virus. However, making a copy for those important data will solve such problem.

To sum up, the benefits of purchasing computers for students are more visible than buying books for library because it bring with us diversified knowledge,it is efficient for research, and it can save data in the secure way. Therefore, I am strongly suggest school to purchase computer instead of buying books.
