Kelley with half tuition v.s. UNC w/ no$
Pre MBA: marketing communication
Post MBA: marketing/GM, may go into a leadership rotational program for a few years holistic understanding of corporate practices and eventually go to a mid-sized start-up in west coast or Boston. Industries of interest: biotech/healthcare innovation, lifestyle (may just be personal interest or side projects)
I heard that even if your looking to go into corporates, a consulting internship doesnt hurt, so if it allows I would like to try a consulting internship either in summer or pre MBA, if it makes sense at all... I would also like to hear opinions on this

Now my questions are:
1) I know Kelley is a solid corporate marketing school, but I've heard that UNC has better reputation/influence nationwide (whereas Kelley is more mid west regional) <- is this true?
2) Is it true that I may have more options going with UNC? I know right now im thinking marketing but a lot of things could change in the two years... and i dont want to limit my options
3) There are two schools (and with considerably larger class sizes) in the chapel hill-durham area... idk it just seems more peers to me, the more the merrier yea?

So good question.
Now this is a real hard call here. Yes, you are right that UNC has a bit better rep nationwide. But a bit. Now is that bit worth half the tuition?... hmmmm. that's a hard call, and that one needs to be more on your side, since you know your financial situation...
Again, you can look at statistics, and talk to people who have gone to marketing, but wherever you do go , a lot will depend on you. And like above, although there is a difference in prestige. It's not a difference like between UNC and MIT. The schools are more or less on the same level.

Finally, you want the best answer you'll ever get?
Take a week's holiday and go VISIT. Stay two days in each school. And I GUARANTEE you, you will know what is best for you.

Thank you Jon, this is indeed a difficult one. A little reassurance helped though (about my understanding of the two schools)! =)
