Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should assign homework for students every day.
In the era of information, with the dramatic development of science, implements available for students to absorb knowledge are increasing every day. So, a debate of whether teachers should insist on giving students homework everyday is taking place in our society.
As a result of the assignable improvement of study instruments, some people claim that since students can absorb knowledge from a large sum of devices, such as PAD, which can demonstrate unnumerous on line classes or documentaries, the assignments from teachers every day is unnecessary. This explanation sounds reasonable. However,as for me, teacher should assign homework to students everyday by taking other aspects into consideration.
To begin with, homework is the most indispensable bridge between teachers and students which can enhance the working efficiency of the both. As though learning by oneself is advisable, teachers,with the abundant learning and teaching experience in his or her own field, is the exclusive person who can perfectly guide the inexperienced leaners. By distributing homework day by day, teachers can not only supervise the students' learning effect on daily classes.,but can also keep students learning at a normal and appropriate speed.For example, if a English teacher want to teach students how to write a paper, he can easily guide the students day after day.The first day, he can recommend students to read three or four excellent papers after class.The other day, he can require the learners try to write a part of a paper.Due to students' feedback, he can decide how to polish the students' ability to write after assess their level by the formal exercise. With the magic of students' homework, both learning and teaching period can become more smooth and fluent.
Furthermore, students can easily lost their destination in the titanic ocean of knowledge and have trouble reviewing what the have learn from school that day without the assistance of homework assigned by teachers. In the contrary, if teachers highlight the essential part of knowledge that day by the homework, students can locate the most significant knowledge of this section and focus on that during his own study process. As far as I am concerned, a commonplace situation among college students can strongly give evidence to that point of view. During the time of final exam, the student who have studied hard all the semester , especially those who have elaborately finished the professor's assignment after class everyday,spend only few hours before the examination. Conversely, the opposite ones, however, have to study day and night because these poor guys who have not taken daily homework seriously,basically know nothing about the subject.
In a word, hence going by the above explanation, teachers should assign homework everyday in order to make sure the harmonious advance of both teachers and learners. Taking all things into consideration, distributing appropriate homework everyday could eventually benefit the technology and education career of the whole society. |
