看过关于这题得以前一些的帖子，都还没有说出我的心里话，所以再问。首先肯定两件事情：as compared to没有错，我确定；compare to 只能用被动，也很确定。所以B不对

D和E是典型的宾语从句名词化错误，也不选。只在A与C中选。

prep笔记解释的不选A的理由是compared to的比较对象不对象，我同意。A去掉所有的副词，就是...earn an average of pay, compared to a ratio...确实不等。

但问题是，同理类推，C中the ratio不是也不能作为42 times their pay的同位语了吗？ 42 times是修饰their pay的，那么a ratio能去解释前面的修饰语吗？

顺面问一下，twice their pay这种结构，twice是什么词性呢？

如此说来，A错除了awkward最明显的原因是动词没有补全导致歧义

问题二：

twice是adv 这个的确没问题，但是成分呢？只能理解为状语修饰动词而不是定语修饰the pay?

A，应该不是没有补全，是比较前后概念不对称吧；

twice the pay，我只当习惯用法了，没有深究副词修饰名词到底怎么回事，不好意思；
