我也C了，GMAT不是都省WOULD，SHOULD那些虚拟的助动词了么？后面我觉得只要跟原形就可以吧？BE每错吧？

选择C会出现，with结构修饰them的可能性。而且B和C都出现了they和them这样的代词，与A MERGER AGREEMENT矛盾。D和E肯定不对，所以只能选择A，但是A的that限定词跑了这么远，确实让人难以接受啊。

请nn指教是否有这样的修辞手法

C错误。until a merger agreement be signed 这里的be错误。until只是个时间状语从句，从来没有虚拟的用法。

关于A的用法，看来大家还是不熟悉13套里面的题目啊，至少没有仔细研究。下面这道题不知道大家有没有仔细看过以前的讨论。

After more than four decades of research and development, a new type of jet engine is being tested that could eventually propel aircraft anywhere in the world within two hours or help boost cargoes into space at significantly lower costs than current methods permit.

A. tested that could eventually propel aircraft anywhere in the world within two hours or help

我认为你说的那题与本题不一样

因为本题中出现了if 从句带有虚拟的所以主句也应有相应的表达吧

而你说的那题定从用虚拟的是可行的

单独的虚拟条件句是可以存在的。所以A正确。
