Should either athletes or entertainers earn lots of money that common people may not be able earn in their whole lives? Different people may have different kinds of answers. In my opinion, although it seems unfair for those people to earn a large sum of money at first glance, there is nothing wrong for both athletes and entertainers to earn much more money after thinking the issue furthermore. To illustrate and substantiate my view, I will use the following statements and examples to enforce my claim.
First, it is well known that either athletes or entertainers have to work very hard if they want to be outstanding; we may only see what they earn, but easily ignore how many efforts they make to achieve success. For example, an athlete
has to exercise repeatedly and tolerate loneliness to improve his or her performance. It is never easy to stand tough training and lonely days.
Second, it is common that athletes and entertainers may lose their privacy after they succeed and become famous. For example, many entertainers often complain that there are always so many journalists and their fans around them that they cannot lead a normal life like common people. We always say that freedom is invaluable; therefore, thinking of the freedom those people lose, we can find that they really sacrifice a lot to exchange for money.
To sum up, I think that both athletes and entertainers should earn lots of money because they work very hard and sometimes may have to sacrifice many significant things such as the privacy or the time they can get along with their families or friends. |
