45. Competition for high grades seriously limits the quality of learning at all levels of education.(为了高分而竞争限制了各个教学阶段的质量)

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

Nowadays, education becomes an important issue of our society. In order to stimulate students to work hard on their study and get better study efforts, a number of methods could be approach. When talking about this issue, competition for high grades comes to one's mind. This method works relatively well under some situations, but it is less likely to be an accessible method for all students of all level.

Admittedly, competition for high grades asks students in primary and middle schools to work hard on their study. In this level of education, the knowledge is relatively easy, and almost everyone learn the main course, such as math, English, etc. It is never hard to compare the grade of a student to that of another. Under that condition, building a sense of competition on their grades could help students to work harder on their study. Because students at that age are more likely to focus on play but not their study, the method of competition is going to work well.A student, though likes play very much, never wants to be the last one on the grade list of his or her class. Thus, to encourage primary and middle school students to compete on their grade could be a good method.

But that never means that the competition method always do a fantastic job in primary and middle school. This method may put great pressure on small students. And these young children could not bare this pressure. Under the great pressure of competition and study, they may feel unhappy about their school work and even be suspect about their own ability. If they feel extremely uncomfortable, perhaps they are going to hate the school work and their study. So this method may work as a backfire.

What is more, as students grow older, the method of competition on their grade seems less likely to work well.Since they grow older, to get high grade on their exam is never the only thing the students should care most. They have other important things to do at the same time, and they want to success in their career. If a student wants to go to work as soon as he graduate, the ability to find a wonderful job is extremely important for him. Moreover, a master communication skill is also in need. Even though some students would like to focus on academic and work as professor in a university, they should do more research but not just glue their eyes on the final grade. If we ask all the university students to focus on their grade, it seems that this method is going to do more bad things than benefits them. They should put more attention on the things important to them rather than the grade.

To sum up, before we encourage students to compete on their grades, we should take the special situation of the student into our consideration. The method of competition works well sometimes, but it could cause bad effort when it put under a less suitable circumstance.

感觉issue比argue难写。。这篇已经算好写的题目了,还是有点手忙脚乱的刚到500字
