44. Claim: It is no longer possible for a society to regard any living man or woman as a hero.
Reason: The reputation of anyone who is subjected to media scrutiny will eventually be diminished.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.
Heroes are those person who catch the eyes of the whole society.In the novel, it is the hero that pushes the story go on.In real world, we still need the hero of our own age.Though heroes, like the normal person, could hardly be outstanding in all fields, they always have some achievement which original people could study from. Thus, nowadays, we can still find the hero of our own age.
Admittedly, heroes can still making mistakes.The media is so powerful and it is able to make almost everything known to the whole society.When a person is regarded as the hero of the society, he is going to catch the attention of the media. The media, however, may disclose some flaws or mistakes he made before, which could diminish his reputation. However, rational people should judge a person through a whole view, and look at both the achievement and the drawback of a person. We should learn form the achievement and try our best to avoid the mistakes.For example, a writer has written an attracting novel which becomes the best-seller in a few months. After this writer catches the attention of the society, the media find out that the writer do extremely pool in math when he was a school student.But this drawback never let us speak ill of the achievement of the writer.
Heroes have already made some achievements and make contributions to our society. Though the media is able to disclose their drawbacks, it could never diminish their achievement.For example, a film star has play parts in several famous films and builds up a nice reputation. It is hard for the media to diminish her achievement, for the great parts she played has already impressed into audiences' heart.
We need heroes in our modern society.In any age, we should have some person that we can learn from.Since a person is regarded as the hero of a society, he must have done something that other people cannot do.If everyone learns from the good behaviors of the hero, our society is going to get more benefit.For example, an earthquake happens and a person tried his best to save other people but care little about his own safety.This person should be regarded as the hero of our society.Though he may not be a wonderful student in his student years or behave well in his job.Every one should learn from his bravery and self-scarification.If we have more people that willing to help other, our society is going to become a better one.
To sum up, we are in need of heroes.Though the heroes themselves may not do everything well and their mistake may be known to the whole society, we still should learn from their wonderful behaviors. If every one willing to learn from the heroes, we are going to build up a better society.
