93 Unfortunately, in contemporary society, creating an appealing image has become more important than the reality or truth behind that image.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.
（+）承认追求表面光鲜这种现象是存在的：面试时——歌手艺人——选择杂志——自己的生活追求。表象容易得到，符合现代快速生活的要求。对美好事物的向往。
（-）但是这些只是重要在开始的阶段，。。。truth and reality才是真正重要的，决定内在价值，有持久的生命力。
（-）真正优质的内在需要长期“修炼”而成，而外表是可以快速达成的，所以无论做什么事，或是承担什么角色，最重要的永远是花更多的精力把内核做好，同时不可以忽视外表。
The issue has its reasons to some degree, but it is far from the truth. We don't doubt the significance of image in contemporary society, but we are suspicious whether image has a higher position than that of truth and reality behind image. We are also not sure whether we should put more effort on the construction of appealing image than it divers to reality.
From sorts of apparent phenomenon today, we may fall into a categorical conclusion like what the speaker said in the issue in that image is more and more important in our times. For example, in job-apply progress, especially in the interview procedure, decent and dainty dress will render employers a good impression of the job-hunter compared with another normal one. Also, in the entertainment fields with rich atmosphere of business, packaging of a new star is always a winning-factor, with shining out-looking as a eye-catching tragedy. It do appears to be true to our real life, choosing the shampoo which looks beautiful like streamline, defying the 'high-level' or dream life with indicators like big house, sports car, and a graceful job, so may superficial factors.
All these seem to offer evidences in various fields for the issue above. When we try to figure out the reasons behind the phenomenon, we will get knowledge that people would like to emphasize the out-look partly comes from the relatively easy degree to get apparent images than to know the truth, which needs time and getting touch deeply. While, in such a rapid pace times, time is always not enough, resulting in the appearance seems more compatible with the time need.
However, the function of appearance always stop in the starting progress, with deeply organization, we won't fall in the partial issue that image is more important than the reality. Go on with such the same examples: despite of decent dress, a employee for HR, for example, who even lack fundamental knowledge of how to hire a useful person will be out of the door of his or her dream job. Also, a singer who doesn't have a impressive voice will never be accepted by mass today. For the advertising of toothpaste, first-time buying may come from the image, but never comes without a good function of cleaning teeth. How about one's life with top-level equipment but nothing in emotion, in family, in friendship. Only solitude is left, without feeling of happiness.
So we can conclude that even image plays a more important role in today than before, it only rest in the beginning progress. Even, we can understand the phenomenon like this, a good appearance is a better way to provide the truth or reality behind that. That is to say, better image will help the truth exposed in the light more quickly. But the truth is the truth; it won't be changed in itself with the appearance. What will survive in people's heart for a long time will be the real excellent one who has special and valuable factors. Just like the bank "Beatles", after so many years 'they' appeared in the Olympic Feat of London. At those passing years, maybe there were a lot ofbanks with more appealing image than them, but it's the permanent topics, great lyrics, as well as beautiful tones that let them remain forever.
At the same time, we should be aware that a good reality needs more time and efforts to set up, while appearance is quite easy and fast, comparatively speaking. In whatever jobs, art field or business area, paying more effort on the quality and spirit is enduring winning key. Simultaneously, attending image is also necessary.
Therefore, there is no doubt, even the both, image and the truth behind it, are necessary, the latter is more crucial. Whatever the times is, and wherever the value system is, trying to improve the quality and emphasizing the truth behind image is always the real truth. |
