答案是B，语法笔记上说“修饰American(美国的，美国文化的)应该用副词”，但我感觉American应该是名词，美国人的意思，这样的话unique是没有错的。American和"the poet Walt Whitman"应该是同位语吧？

同意， American是指themes，unique－－uniquely.

这题还有一种改法是unique to. 我觉得更解释得通些。American作名词解。
