Whether people are faced with more difficulty to determine their careers which contribute to a successful future currently than in the past? I am partly in favor of this idea considering the relenting situations of the bygone days. Advances on technology and science, however, also throw light on people's choice on careers, which can be illuminated by reasons and specifical examples in the following article.

In the first place, I do concede that it was relatively easier for people to recognize a promising career for the employment situation in the past was less complex. On one hand, less competitions were confronted on human resource market as the pressure exerted by population was controllable. Specifically, in the 1950th of China when the national economy was rebuilt, every career was thriving and residents were lucky enough to get chances to be constituted a certain job instead of crowding in the labor market. Any job they possessed would lead to a secure and successful future. On the other hand, due to the underdevelopment of technology and science, the sorts of jobs available were comparatively narrow. People living in the past may need not face the dilemma during the determination making process.

However, prodded by the progress of technology and science, people currently own even more access to information which help them have a better understanding of different fields. For instance, the computer enables people to gather information free of the limitation of distance and time. It is the computer that broadens people's view to diverse issues, therefore clearly know what they really want and which job is of most significance to them. The further online service on career choice even developes a complete analysis of the individual and provides him or her with professional job recommendations. Besides, many colleges and universities have adopted some courses which foster students’ capacity to ascertain a promising career or a job. Here, we are confident that current people are apparently easier to confirm their careers and jobs.

Last but not least, we cannot ignore the essence of future with success and safety. Form my point, that possibly stands for the a high salary which could cover any emergent disease of a family member and satisfaction that an individual self grains from work. Even though some careers such as physician, attorney and professor are paid highly, the people engaged in these fields also are required to have a firm foundation of relevant knowledge, especially the physician probably has to burden the pressure of facing death of his patient. Thus we are not supposed to reckless pursue a 'so-called' successful career without consideration of our inner wills. Instead a clear identification of ourselves plays an vital role for us to find jobs which are most suitable for us. Only in this way will we move continuously on the way to a secure and successful future.

In sum up, in spite of some advantages attached to the past which made people easily identify a career, the current progress on employment situation outstrips the former advantages. To get a better future, we must start from equipping ourselves with knowledge instead of merely pursuing a superficially promising career. As long as we find a job most proper for us and commit enormous effort will we attain a brighter future.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In the past, it was easier for people to identify what types of career or job would lead to a secure, successful future.

Whether people are faced with more difficulty to determine their careers which contribute to a successful future currently than those (careers点指代不明了) did in the past? I am partly in favor of this idea considering the relenting situations of the bygone days. Advances on technology and science, however, also throw light on people's choice on careers, which can be illuminated by reasons and specifical examples in the following article(这句不错).

The reading passage puts forward three hypotheses to throw light on the decline of the yellow cedar. The listening passage, however, denotes that none of these three explanations is adequate.

At the very beginning, the writer holds that the cedar bark beetle is the major cause of the declination. Yet the speaker displays a fact that heathy yellow cedars are more resistant to insects than other species by releasing chemical substance poisonous to beetles. Furthermore, the cedar beetles mainly attack the damaged and sick cedars which are doomed to demise. Thus the cedar bark beetle cannot be a candidate for the tree's decline.

Moreover, the speaker also casts doubt on the hypothesis that brown bears are responsible for the decline. To support his statement, the speaker exhibits the evidence that brown bears are existed only on mainland. Since the overall decline of yellow cedar occurs both on the mainland and island, the brown bear fails to account for the decrease in number of yellow cedar on the island.

Last but not least, the point that changes of climate contribute to the decline is also challenged by the speaker. According to the speaker, the frost damage could not be the explanation since the yellow cedar on lower elevation where it is warm die in greater number than that on higher elevation where it is cold. Although the climatic changes make root system of yellow cedar more sensitive, confidence is little to support this hypothesis.

11.7  Colleges or universities should offer students a better job preparation before they start working.
Whether students are supposed to be offered a better job preparation before entering work places by colleges, universities and other educational institutions? I cannot agree with this policy more as the courses and internship programs both perform indispensable role to pave the way to students' future careers. Points in different dimensions and specific examples will be demonstrated to bolster my statement.

In the first place, the systematic curriculum relevant to jobs is an optimal approach to equip students with professional knowledge. In campus, students are more concentrated in their own studying without disturbance from outside, which means they have higher working efficiency to absorb knowledge of their major. Specifically, a brilliant boy whose major is finance, during the preparation program, can not only participate in major courses such as marketing, banking and psychology of consumers, but also learns critical thinking and value estimation, all of which are helpful for his future career in the finance field.

Moreover, the job preparation also includes the internship programs where opportunities are big for students to cultivate their pragmatic abilities and skills for certain jobs. For instance, an apprentice could acquire rich experience like how to tackle the emergencies from the veterans who have worked for the corporation over ten years. Additionally, from working within a team, an individual will manage to sharpen his interpersonal skills and ability to deliver a eloquent lecture and even learn more from the teamwork spirit. In this way, the internship will lay a firm foundation for students' future job and raise them in a favorable position in the human resource market.

In spite of the advantages of the job preparation for students, the colleges and universities may place emphasis on the extent of encouragement on students for their careers choice. Possible is that the myopic pursuit of so-called lucrative and promising careers identified by authorities on education will refrain students from other available jobs whose significance are neglected by the public. What is of the most importance is the real interests inherent to students. To properly prepare students for future job, colleges and universities would better provide introduction courses of diverse majors to help students have better understandings of those majors they are to engage in and give advises when it is needed. In this way will the schools maximize the merits of job preparation.

In sum, since the job preparation exert enormous positive impacts on students' acquisition of knowledge and practical working abilities, there is no reason to refuse carrying out this policy before students start working. As long as colleges and universities pitch rational prodding force on students’ job choice and preparation will the students benefit ultimately.

The reading passage contends that the examination of the T rex's leg bone reveals the existence of remains of blood vessels, red blood cells and collagen matrix. The lecturer, however, casts doubt on these discoveries.

At the very beginning, the lecturer challenges the idea that soft, flexible organic substance is the remains of blood vessels. According to him, these soft material may be left by bacteria colonies since bacteria colonized the hollows inside the bone which used to be the blood channels long after the organism died. Therefore, it cannot be the remains of blood vessels.

Furthermore, the writer claims the presence of red blood cells because of the color and size of the spheres. Conversely, the lecturer puts forward a fact that these spheres are also found in primitives nearby which do not have red blood cells when alive. Thus these spheres are not red blood cells but some pieces of reddish mineral.

Last but not least, the lecturer denotes that the discovery of collagen contained in T rex's leg bone is open to question. Since no collagen has been detected in fossils older than 100,000 years, the 70-million-year-old T rex's cannot preserve the collagen. Besides, the lecturer hypothesizes that collagen may come from a recent resource such as the skin of researchers who were handling the bone recently.

11.8 Do you agree with the viewpoint that people are now easier to become educated than in the past.
Whether the situation of receiving education is worse currently than in the past, as the speaker maintains? This statement is superficially correct, while a deep scrutiny will reveal the absurdness of it. I am inclined to stand for the view that education is much more easily to be acquired than before.

In the first place, the improvement of people's attitude toward education enhances an skyrocketing number of individuals to pursue opportunities for education. In the past, governed by the notation that earning money enjoyed the priority over any other alternatives, people tended to work in farmland and manufactory since they became adolescents when it was a great time to absorb knowledge. In contrast, since an increasing number of people are aware of the significance of knowledge and intellectual labor, education is placed considerable emphases on now. Here it is the revolution of people's thoughts that make people easier to get educated today than begone days.

Furthermore, the advances on technology and science as well build a bridge between people and education. Specifically, the computer, valued as one of the most successful invention in the twentieth century, plays an encouraging role on rendering ease to education. On one hand, it effectively save people's time and energy on searching information. No matter when and where, one merely needs to open the search box and type in keys words, and then all information related will emerge on the screen within seconds, which greatly shorten the time for him or her who used to go to libraries or bookstores to look for information. On the other hand, with the development of internet, the online education has become possible. Currently enrolled in a online course, one is able to learn as do the ordinary students by sitting in front of the computer at home, which is far out of the imagination of the past people.

Even though the progress on thoughts toward education and learning approach, there is no denying that competitions for chances of education is much more fiercer. So limited the resource of education such as expert professors, classrooms, and even internet together with the growing number of people who demand education that hardship can be faced by students, family and even the whole society. Luckily, the government has realized this quandary. A mint of money is pitched to cultivate more professors, to build more schools and to bring in more teaching equipment, all of which will release the pressure on current educational situations. Besides, certain acts of education are also enacted to guarantee the rights of citizens to get equal chance of education. In this way, conspicuous is that people today are easier to be educated than those in the past.

In sum, from what has been discussed above, it is convincing that people's attitude on education is improved and means to get educated are of greater convenience. With the joint efforts of family, society and the government, people are now easier to become educated than in the past and will be easier and easier in the future.

Whether students are supposed to be offered a better job preparation before entering work places by colleges, universities and other educational institutions?
