Hello there,
Well MSF and MBA are two entirely different degrees. First of all, an MBA is a generalist degree focusing on MANAGEMENT in all fields. An MSF is focused more on the numbers side of finance. It is true that in finance both degrees can sometimes lead to similar positions, but they are quite different.
For an MBA you will need prior work experience, usually 3 years. For an MSF, there are two types of programs “pre-experience MSFs” and “post-experience MSFs”. The pre-experience MSFs are open to anyone without any finance experience (although it’s still good if you had an internship or two), and the post-experience programs are directed for people who already have some years of experience in the finance industry.
I hope this has clarified things for you, and if you have any other questions do not hesitate!
Best,
Jon Frank |
