4. Scandals are useful because they focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could.
Every society suffers the negative effects of scandals, yet it may also receive scandals' benefit effects. We should reflect this issue multi-dimensionally against all odds as the world itself has been formulated into a step of sophisticated and versatile. That is to say, the usefulness of scandals varies depending on different situations.
First off, there is no denying that scandals can expose the darkness of our society to public and administers could adjust or even correct the errors. Watergate Event is regarded as one of the most famous politic scandal in US history for the reason that not only the temporal president Nixon lost his job and politic prospect, but also this scandal evoked the multitude’s aspiration for fair and honest government. Thanks to two journalists of The Washington Post, Bob and Carl, persist for their investigation, president Nixon’s unfairly competition can ultimately be exposed to multitude. From this point, scandals in some circumstance can indeed attract populace’s attention on problems through which no speaker or reformer ever could.
Nevertheless, some people may contend that scandals sometimes could be overemphasized and thus the result could be too serious. The media, which actually live on populace’s concern for news, may amplify the seriousness of scandals to attract public attention.
