我查了一下没有合适的解释，请问一下E为什么不可以呢？我认为烟的目的是让乘客认为汽车着火了，所以用to表示目的。

make根appear平行

我认为把and去掉，用making也行

天啊，这汽车还有人故意放烟不成？难道是恐怖分子？。。。。

原句的意思是，烟出来了，然后造成结果是吓到乘客了，是自然发生的结果。
