Some people believe that people should readonly those books that are about real events, people, and established facts. Butto be frank, I cannot fully agree with this viewpoint. I prefer to say that mayother types of books are also worthy for us to get acknowledge and closely relatedto our lives.
In the first place, there is no doubt thatthose books referring to real events, people, and established facts could giveus much experience about life, we can avoid taking many mistakes based on allthese real examples. Case that by learning about the story of previous hero, wecan be inspired in many aspects of our lives, we work and study hard in orderto be a person as respective as the hero whom we appreciate. Many historyevents show us valuable experience and conduct us to a more efficiency way toachieve our life goals. And the knowledge of established facts would help usestablish our knowledge system and be more logical thinking. All of theseadvantages of reading realistic books do good to our better surviving in thecontemporary society.
However, it cannot deny that some otherkinds of books also play an important role in building up human's mental world.Some books are made up in fiction for special purpose to enlighten people'sthinking. For instance, when I was young, I got into the habit of listening tofable before sleeping. Mom told lots of interesting stories to me, a littleyoung girl. Even I was too young to totally understand the implied meaning ofthem, it have a great influence on the formation of my personal value opinion.Mom taught me what is right and what is wrong by reading these fables to me. Thefictional form of books is more flexible in instructional significance.
In addition, the fictional books helpimprove people's imagination and creative abilities. When people reading a novel,they can easily relax themselves and let the imagination run free with the plotof story. Although the story may different from the realistic condition, theyreally got pleasure from the reading. Maybe that is the reason why so manypeople like reading fiction novels in their spare time. The creative ability isof importance for a country and nation's development. We can never got betteris we are not imagine a better life. Thus, the important significant of readingfiction books cannot be ignored.
In a word, people should not only readbooks referring to real events, people, and established facts, the other kindsof fictional books should also be taken into consideration. Ignoring either kindof books will surely lead to an imbalance in people's mental world. |
