求助啊~有关比较。

求助！刚才在看一道prep的讨论，

然后有个NN的解释里面提到这样一句话，引用一下：
The rates of birth in China are much higher than those in US.
这句话就是一个典型的错误，因为those是要指the rates of birth in China整体，因此不能如此使用，必须用一个概括性的名词代替。

那这个句子应该怎么改呢？不是说比较的时候单数用that,复数用those代替么？这里的those不是代替the rates of birth么？

指代从来不能指代一个整体或者一个事情，指代it those都是指代前面曾经出现过的单词，这里The rates of birth in China are much higher than those in US. 前后比较的是rates， those指代的是rates 而不是一个整体。

那这句话The rates of birth in China are much higher than those in US. 应该是没有问题的吧?

C选项正确~~
大NN说those指代整体，我不太同意啦，我更倾向于用its指代the rates...

The rates of birth are much higher in China than those in US.

这两个句子还是有区别的
你说的the rate of increase里面rate是单数啊，所以后面也是it,
但是the rates of birth里面rates是复数啊~所以应该还是用those才对吧~

我觉得第一个句子看起来好像比第二个句子要更常见。。。。=_=
真的不知道是错在哪里了！会不会是nn搞错了举了个错误的例子

LZ没有明白我的意思~~不在于单复数问题，而在于用it/its（复数）还是用that/those的问题~~这两种指代是不一样的~
