回答LZ，首先说there be形式绝对不是都错，OG上的那道狼的种群的题就是一个很好的证明，我也是XDF学出来的，千万别被绝对的东西拌死，being也不是都错，我刚做的一道PREP题，BEING就是正确答案。所以千万别用there be排除法，很危险。

然后我给你分析这道题选B的原因，there be句型从根本上来说是一个强调句，其真正的主语在be动词后面，也就是该句中的households。
则如果说as as 结构要求的平行的话，显然使得后面的household缺少对性的there be，句子结构不完整，且whose和前面的where不平行。

另外C选项最大的错误在于those，代词指代有个要求，就是必须是跟前面的名词是一回事，很明显，这道题里的两个household不是一回事，前面的household指的是“孩子和孙子住在祖父母家”的“家庭”，而后面的household指的是“祖父母住在孩子和孙子家”的“家庭”。显然这两个不同的household，所以你的those逻辑上是错误的，不具可比性，对于出现比较结构的题目，这往往是个很大的陷阱，类似的题目非常多，代词指代造成逻辑上的不清晰。

例如：The rates of birth in China are much higher than those in US.

这句话就是一个典型的错误，因为those是要指the rates of birth in China整体，因此不能如此使用，必须用一个概括性的名词代替。

谢谢大牛！我又查了白勇语法《GMAT公理》，第一条是说there be仅用于“某处有某物”，二而此物是一具体名词，如wolf,stone,star,而不是指一抽象名词，如：conversion,relation等，大概这里household是具体名词，所以可以接的

呵呵，你这么考虑也对，不过赵丽的一条口诀：见到代词找指代，指代通常不合理。我觉得还是检查最快的一种方法，比起区分抽象和具体，尤其是比较从句，有as as或者more than出现的，代词都变得非常危险，我遇到很多题都是这样了。

这个句子应该怎么改呢？不是说比较的时候单数用that,复数用those代替么？这里的those不是代替the rates of birth么？

这道题我想了10分钟为什么选B，终于想通了。应该是这样的：
A recent United States Census Bureau report shows that there are （more than 3 times） as many households where the children and grandchildren are living in their grandparents' homes as there are households where the grandparents are living in their children's or grandchildren's home.

为了解释的更清楚，我们先把 more than 3 times去掉不看，因为这个对句子结构没有影响。

其实第一个there are的后面是个倒装。There are后面应该紧跟households，但是where修饰太长了，所以只能把household放后面。

正确的语序应该是：there are households (where……)  as many as  there are households (where……)




如果表达的更清楚，就是：there are as many households as there are
