Hello my friend. Yes, schools know that MBA LOR guys are very busy. So from time to time, they will only write ONE letter and it can be used for other schools. It isn’t ideal, but it is okay—especially if that boss ACTUALLY writes the letter himself, and he does a good job. Now in doing LORs, remember what we call the 70-30 rule. 70% of what the recommender writes about should corroborate YOUR stories. If you claim to have done lots of cool stuff, the LOR should confirm that. But 30% of what he writes about should NOT be in your application. It should be NEW information, exciting information that you wouldn’t KNOW to write in your app. If he does this, even if he submits the same LOR for all schools, you should be just fine this year. Dear Jon, I want to ask one question: What if a recommender is too busy to complete online application forms one by one? Can we just use the PDF form, copy the LOR content into it and then submit online? Thank you very much! |
